GRADE 8 APPLICATIONS

The Gauteng Online Admissions for Grade 8 for the next upcoming academic year will officially commence as per the announcement of the Gauteng Department of Education (GDE) – Please visit https://www.gdeadmissions.gov.za/ for more information on the application process.

Once Parents have applied online they have 7 days in which they need to upload or submit the required documents at the school for verification.

For the Application to be considered by the Gauteng Department of Education the following documents are required:

For SOUTH AFRICAN Citizens

  1. Parents/ Guardian’s ID’s
  2. Child’s Birth Certificate Child’s most recent School Report
  3. Recent Proof of Address:
  • If you own the property: Submit either a Municipal Statement or Bond Statement.
  • If you rent: A Rental Statement

For NON – SOUTH AFRICAN Citizens

  1. Parents/Guardian’s Passport
  2. Parents/Guardians’ Valid Visa
  3. Child’s Documents:
  • Passport(Embassy)
  • Birth Certificate (Embassy)
  • Refugee/ Asylum Certificate (If applicable)

  • If you own the property: Submit either a Municipal Statement or Bond Statement.
  • If you rent: A Rental Statement.

The Gauteng Department of Education places Grade 8 learners after the school has verified the supporting documents accompanying the application.

ADMISSION PROCEDURE FOR GRADES 9 - 11

Application forms can be collected from Hoërskool President High School. Applications will open mid-year. Completed applications must be returned to the school with the required documents:

For SOUTH AFRICAN Citizens

  1. Parent / Guardians’ ID
  2. Child’s Birth Certificate
  3. Child’s most recent School Report
  4. Recent Proof of Address:
  • If you own the property: Submit either a Municipal Statement or Bond Statement.
  • If you rent: A Rental Statement

For NON – SOUTH AFRICAN Citizens

  1. Parents/Guardians’ Passport
  2. Parents/Guardians’ Valid Visa
  3. Child’s Documents:
    • Passport(Embassy)
    • Birth Certificate (Embassy)
    • Refugee/ Asylum Certificate (If applicable)
  4. Child’s most recent School Report
  5. Recent Proof of Address:
  • If you own the property: Submit either a Municipal Statement or Bond Statement.
  • If you rent: A Rental Statement

A guardian has to provide proof of legal guardianship.

Confirmation of receipt of the application will be sent to the cell phone number reflected on the application form.

Language of Instruction and First Additional Language
The language of instruction at the school is English. It is in the best interests of the learner that they can cope in an English medium environment. The only other language offered as First Additional Language is Afrikaans.

Applications will only be considered should the school have the capacity for the particular grade applied for.

Consideration will be given to parents/guardians who permanently reside in the school’s feeder area as determined by the Gauteng Department of Education. Should the School become aware of any fraudulent documentation or information submitted, the application will immediately be disqualified and will not be considered.
